Venue information

How do I get to the venue?

Subway: The Chicago Blue line train stops at both Division and Damen. The venue is halfway between the two, so you can get off at either stop and walk about 5 minutes to the venue. Ventra cards are available for purchase in any CTA train station.
Bus: The Milwaukee Ave bus stops directly in front of the venue at the Wood Street stop. You will need to pay exact cash ($2.50) for each bus you ride or you can purchase a Ventra card at a CTA station before getting on the bus.
Taxi/Uber: Tell a cabbie you are going the Wicker Park neighborhood, to Milwaukee and Wood. The venue is one shop south of the intersection on the north side of the street.
Metra: the train system connecting the suburbs to the city is your best bet to avoid Friday night traffic coming into the city and will allow you to enjoy not having to fight for parking as well as a few beverages!

Is there parking?

There’s no parking lot for the venue. There is some street parking, though it’s a Friday night in one of the most popular nightlife areas in Chicago so it will be limited and hard to come by. Any street parking in front of the venue is metered until about 9pm and generally runs about $3/hour. Wood Street (just northwest of the venue - Wood runs north) has permit-free street parking as does the area right around the park. That said, we highly recommend taking the Metra or CTA if you are local instead of driving. After all, you’ll be toasting with us, and who wants to drive after a couple of drinks?

What does cocktail attire mean?

We’re going to be fancy, so you should be, too! You don’t need to buy a tux, but if you’ve got a fun dress or nice suit you don’t get the opportunity to wear often, here’s your chance to dust it off and take it for a night on the town.

What to do while you’re in town

Chicago is an awesome city, and there are all kinds of things to do. We suggest checking out a TimeOut Chicago magazine (can be bought at most pharmacies and bookstores) or Metromix where events for the weekend can be found.

If you’re at the Public Hotel, the Gold Coast has great shopping and easy access to the Magnificent Mile – Chicago’s shopping hotspot.

Wherever you prefer to stay, we advise you to book as early as possible. This is a very busy weekend with the NFL Draft and a large conference in town, and hotel rooms are already booking up.

We've set aside some rooms at the Public Hotel in the Gold Coast neighborhood, renowned for its shopping, architecture and nightlife. The standard room is offered at a rate of $235/night for the weekend of May 1st. If you'd like to reserve your room, please call 1-888-506-3471 and reference the Dilger-Deibel Wedding Block before March 18th to make sure you get this rate.

Please note, if you drive and park in the hotel, valet parking is $56/night. There are (slightly) more affordable parking garages in the area at 1 E Delaware (about 10 short blocks south) for $40/night, and possibly at 1440 N Lake Shore Drive for about $30/night (though you may not have in and out privileges there).

In the Wicker Park neighborhood (where the wedding will be) there are a few other options:

A boutique hotel/hostel called Holiday Jones. The rooms are quite modest with bunk beds or a double bed, but some include a private bathroom. They have limited parking for their guests.
The Wicker Park Inn – a B&B that includes free street parking but requires multiple nights.
The Two Urns – a B&B that includes free street parking. Multiples nights are not required here but it’s a 20 minute walk to the venue, and there are rules about the hours of check-in.

There are also other hotels in the city, if you’d prefer to stay elsewhere.

Everything we put on the registries are things we'll love and would give us a fun experience, but honestly, the most important gift you can bring us is having you and your dancing shoes at our celebration. We are pumped to spend our special day with you and are so grateful you’re in our lives!
